Ergonomic Carrying System

The advanced ergonomic design of the carrying system features a 3-point height adjustment allowing for quick and easy adjustment to fit the torso length of any firefighter. This, in combination with the unique sliding and pivoting waistbelt, provides unrestricted movement and maximum comfort.

Advanced Electronic Monitoring

The Dräger PSS® 7000 features the new Dräger Bodyguard 7000 electronic monitoring unit which provides continuous monitoring of personal information and operational status of the Dräger PSS® 7000 breathing apparatus. The new Dräger FPS 7000 Head-Up-Display developed for the Dräger FPS 7000 facemask features a wireless design for user friendly operation and is an option which seamlessly integrates with the Dräger Bodyguard 7000 electronic system.

Battery Management

The main power supply module, conveniently located in the backplate, has been designed for maximum operation duration to reduce the frequency of battery replacement to a minimum. The standard battery module uses readily available low cost AA batteries. The snap-fit connection of the battery module allows for quick change-out in the field. In addition to the AA power pack module, Dräger also offers a rechargeable battery module.

Robust Hard Wearing Design

The design, construction, and materials have been chosen to withstand repeated heavy duty use and harsh environmental conditions encountered by professional firefighters, while maintaining maximum comfort and ease of use to the wearer. The advanced compression molded comfort padding combined with high temperature performance provides excellent wear characteristics. Heavy duty stainless steel friction buckles and advance aramid harness adjustment straps withstand high wear and tear, while, at the same time, ensuring quick and easy donning and doffing of the backplate. The carbon fibre composite backplate offers high strength with light weight and excellent chemical resistance.

Cylinder Quick-Connect Option

The Dräger cylinder quick-connect allows for quick and easy change-out of cylinders both in the field and in the workshop. This provides for more efficient and smooth operations by eliminating the time-consuming threading of the handwheel to the cylinder valve.

Easy Maintenance

All major components of the Dräger PSS® 7000 have been designed for quick and easy assembly and disassembly for easy servicing and maintenance. The new quick release harness suspension allows quick and easy removal and replacement of shoulder harness and waistbelt assemblies. The pneumatic assembly of all electronic components feature quick fit connections for easy fitting and removal. All these features combine to ensure quick workshop turnaround times.
